Three Card Blackjack

Three Card Blackjack is a relatively new variant of blackjack, having been introduced in 2007. It involves some elements of Texas Holdem poker and 3 card poker, which makes the game more exciting to play.

Three Card Blackjack Rules

The Three Card Blackjack game begins with the player placing an ante wager in the ante betting circle. Then the cards are dealt from a standard 52 card deck. Three cards are dealt to the player and three cards are dealt to the dealer. The player and the dealer both have to form the best blackjack hand possible using any two or all three of their cards. The card values are the same as in normal blackjack and an ace with a 10 value card is a blackjack.

After the player has seen his three cards, he can raise by placing a bet equal to his ante wager in the play betting area. He should do this if he is able to make a good blackjack hand. Otherwise the player can fold and lose his ante wager. If the player raises then the dealer shows his best hand. But before that the dealer must have a total of at least 18 to qualify. If the dealer qualifies then the hands are compared to determine the winner.

The following outcomes are possible in Three Card Blackjack. The player folds and loses his ante wager. The player raises and has a blackjack. In this case the player wins and is paid 1 to 1 on his ante bet and 1 to 1 on his play bet even if the dealer does not qualify and even if the dealer has blackjack. The player raises and the dealer does not qualify. In this case the player wins 1 to 1 on the ante bet and the play bet pushes. The player raises and the dealer qualifies. In this case the hand that is closer to a total of 21 wins. If the player wins he receives a payout of 1 to 1 on both the ante and the play bets. If the dealer wins then the player loses both his bets. All ties, except blackjack, push. Blackjack ties are decided in favor of the player. A blackjack beats a three card total of 21.
